Cherry Bowl Interior<\/p><\/div>\n

This piece was easy to make and Cherry continues to be one of my all time favorite woods with which to work.<\/p>\n

It strikes me as funny and as a sign of my growth as a turner that I once would have considered this to be a fairly big project and I have LOTS of blanks in this size range. Now I can out one this size on no more than an hour, assuming it isn’t a wood that consumes massive amounts of time in sanding. It is this increased productivity that allows me to make up to three bowls a day when I am on a roll like I was today.<\/p>\n

Cherry Bowl Side View<\/p><\/div>\n

All cuts were made using the Easy Wood Tool<\/a> system on my Robust American Beauty<\/a> lathe. Forward chucking was in a Nova Chuck,<\/a> while reverse chucking was done using a Nova Chuck with Cole Jaws<\/a>. Sanding was with Gold and Green Wave sanding discs from Packard Woodworks<\/a>. Final finish is Watco Danish Oil in Cherry.<\/a><\/p>\n
