The identity of this quite wonderful wood is sadly a mystery as whatever label it had before long ago fell off. I really enjoyed turning this piece and if I knew what the wood was I would probably buy more of it.<\/p>\n
I am reasonably sure that it is from Latin America or Asia, which I know doesn’t really narrow it down a great deal. The wood was hard and turned slowly and it cut quite cleanly especially along the areas with the grain. The cross-grain areas did take a bit more work to smooth out but it wasn’t terrible.<\/p>\n
