Monkeypod<\/p><\/div>\n

This piece of Monkeypod has very distinctive dark brown stripes that really add to the interest of the piece.<\/p>\n

I am happy to have had this second chance to work with Monkeypod, a wood that is fairly difficult to source and a wood of which I do not think I have further stock. I can’t locate any further sources at this time so I am glad I had the opportunity to work with Monkeypod as it doesn’t look like it will be readily available any time soon.<\/p>\n

All cuts were made using the Easy Wood Tool<\/a> system on my Robust American Beauty<\/a> lathe. Forward chucking was in a Nova Chuck<\/a>, while reverse chucking was done using a Nova Chuck with Cole Jaws. Sanding was with Gold and Green Wave sanding discs from Packard Woodworks<\/a>. Final finish is Shellawax.<\/a><\/p>\n
