I purchased this blank, which was marketed to me as Pau Amarello, only to discover that this is simply another name for Yellowheart, about which I have written previously.

The only thing I would add was that this piece had terrible end grain tearout and it took an ENORMOUS sanding effort to overcome this. I’ve read back about my previous experiences and all my other pieces of Yellowheart were nothing like this at all. I guess I just had some bad luck with this particular piece for I can tell you that if this had been my first experience of Yellowheart I wouldn’t ever want to work with it again!
