I have worked rather extensively with Canarywood in the past, including a set of 10 bowls recently completed as Christmas 2022 gifts. I have greatly enjoyed working with Canarywood and this single bowl, the blank for which was mixed into a much larger batch of over 100 blanks, proved no exception to the rule.

Canarywood cuts quite cleanly and so requires little clean up sanding. As Canarywood is relatively soft for a tropical hardwood, the sanding that is required is easily achieved. Canarywood takes an easy and even finish as well.
