I have worked with Maple of various sorts and styles extensively. These two small dishes measure 5″ x 3″ and don’t feature strong Ambrosia figure although the coloring is very typical of Ambrosia Maple.

If you aren’t a fan of the small stuff, and I am not either, I will soon, in a matter of less than a week, start working with much larger pieces. I happen to have lots of smaller blanks from when I had only a small lathe and I can’t just throw blanks out because they are not ideal sizes, or at least I chose not to do so. I am working from smallest to largest so please be patient! That means me too!
All cuts were made using the Easy Wood Tool system on my Robust American Beauty lathe. Forward chucking was in a Nova Chuck, while reverse chucking was done using a Nova Chuck with Cole Jaws. Sanding was with Gold and Green Wave sanding discs from Packard Woodworks. Final finish is Shellawax.
